The Project

Student accommodation comprising 215 bedrooms over 6 storeys.

DCL proudly partnered with Galliford to secure this project, supporting them from the tender stage through pre-con and collaborating closely with the wider design team to deliver the project within budget.

The largest hurdle was logistics, as this city-centre project demanded rapid and voluminous deliveries, increasing logistical complexity.

Despite these challenges, DCL worked hand-in-hand with the design team and British Gypsum to address issues particular to the post-Grenfell environment. Through innovative problem-solving and dedicated teamwork, we successfully handed over the project on time and on budget.

Our commitment to safety and excellence was recognized when Galliford awarded us their Supply Chain Safety Award for the outstanding execution of our scope.

It was a pleasure to work with the team at DCL on the iQ Nelson Court Project. Their approach during the procurement stage to help push design and work in VE was a great help due to the commercial constraints around the project. Due to the nature of the city centre site the way the DCL project team worked with us helped aid in a smooth SFS install and internal fit out process. Which intern lead to a high-quality finish, achieved in the 215 rooms.
